  1. How does God bless us? Bro Josphert Kuanping English fellowship 13th December 2009

  2. Ways by which people think God blesses them • By one day appearing to them and giving them what they want. • By sending somebody with a lot of good things to them. • By making them to feel really blessed. • By giving them power and wisdom

  3. The Key Questions in Life 1. How does God bless people? 2. Why does God demand that we believe and trust Him?

  4. What is to bless? 1. To bless is to speak good about something, especially if one is in authority. Those words will come to pass. • A parent can speak good words to a child and that child will be blessed. That is why God tells children to obey their parents. • Ephesians 6:2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise. • Masters, teachers, leaders can speak blessings.

  5. What is to curse? • To curse is to speak evil about something, especially if one is in authority. Those words will come to pass. • We should never speak bad words to other people. We are called to bless.

  6. Godreleases His power to perform Good words. Good words Man Satan releases his evil power to perform evil words Evil words How the system works

  7. God uses only one way to bless us • God blesses us by giving us promises.

  8. For example • Deuteronomy 28:13 • The LORD shallmake you to be the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath.

  9. GOD BLESSINGS AND INHERITANCE BELIEVE PROMISE Man RECEIVE NOTHING, REMAIN AS YOU ARE! DOUBT IGNORE

  10. Where are the promises of God? • God has already spoken every good thing which any man in any situation can need, and has written it in a book called the Bible. • Ephesians 1:3 says He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. 2. That is why He demands that we believe.

  11. You are blessed! • It is mockery to say God bless me! • That is why in the New Testament you do not see any where saying…..God bless you!

  12. The Promises of God • God gives His blessings in form of promises. • God demands that we believe His promises. • If we believe His promises God is very quick to perform them. Jeremiah 1:12

  13. God gave Israel promises • 1 Kings 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

  14. You can be like Peter • Luke 24:49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. • Acts 2:39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

  15. How are His promises? • 2 Peter 1:4 • Whereby are given unto usexceeding great and preciouspromises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

  16. 7 conditions which make the promises to work. • Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let uscleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Cor. 7:1) • That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Heb. 6:12)

  17. The Key of Being in Christ • 2 Corinthians 5:17 • Therefore if any manbe in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. • Galatians 3:16 • Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

  18. If you are in Christ… • 2 Corinthians 1:20For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. • Galatians 3:29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

  19. The New Testament is better than the Old Testament • Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

  20. The example of Abraham • God promised to bless Abram • Genesis 12:2-3 • And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

  21. The faith of Abraham • Rom. 4:19-2219 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: 20  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

  22. Promises have a time • Acts 7:17But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, • Romans 9:9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.

  23. God always guarantees His promises • Heb. 6: 13-18 • For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie,

  24. The men of faith • The list in Heb 11 show men who believed God promises. • Heb 11: 39-40 • And these (Abel, Noah, Moses, Daniel, David, Samuel… ) all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

  25. Let us fear! • Heb 4:1-2 • Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

  26. There is a promise for all that you need • All promises are in the Book. • Promises to be victorious at all times. • Promise of eternal life. Titus 1:2 • Promises to be strong and healthy. • Promises to be a rich giver. • Promises to be full of joy and peace.

  27. Great Promises! • 2 Peter 3:13Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. • 1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

  28. Let us be careful 1. Make sure you are in Christ. 2. Get a book and write down all the things you need. 3. Get promises about them in the Bible. 4. Fulfill all the conditions of the promises and believe and thank God for the promises daily. 5. Serve the Lord and patiently wait for a quick performance of the promises.

  29. I am a Child of promise! 1. I have a promise from God! 2. I have over 800 promises! • The children of promise have health, food, victory, houses, families, wisdom, power, joy, favour, love, boldness, excitement, life, fellowship, riches, abundance, guidance, help,…all they need.

  30. Children of promise • Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
