  1. The7HABITSof Highly EffectiveTEENS By Sean Covey WRITING YOURMISSIONSTATEMENT Lesson # 14

  2. Why should you write a personal mission statement? FOCUS Unless you know where you’re going… you won’t get anywhere. duh

  3. MISSION STATEMENT “A personal mission statement is like a personal credo or motto that states what your life is about. It is like a blueprint to your life.”Sean Covey “A mission statement becomes a personal standard for you, a self-created road map of how you will choose to live amid the unpredictable circumstances and emotions that affect your life.”From Franklin Covey LEADERSHIP planner Mission Statement Activity. A mission statement can help you focus on what you want to do with your life… It helps you set goals and motivates you to persevere in those goals. In your copy of The 7 Habits, reread the examples on pgs. 81 & 82.

  4. DEEP ROOTS • How is a MISSION STATEMENT like a large tree? • Like a large tree, how can a MISSION STATEMENT help us in tough times?

  5. NOW ITS YOUR TURN • As you now work on writing your own mission statement remember to think about the following: • This is your own work. It is for your own benefit. It should help you. • Refer to your GREAT DISCOVERY activity. • Look back at pgs. 81, 82, 90, and 91 in The 7 Habits. • Feel free to be creative… borrow ideas, create something new, experiment, etc. • What you write today is not necessarily permanent… It is like a TREE… It is stable and yet it can grow and change.
