(2Ki 17:33) They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
(Eph 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Eph 2:9) Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Eph 2:10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
(Tit 3:5-8) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
(Heb 9:12) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Heb 9:13) For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: (Heb 9:14) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
(Tit 2:14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Heb13:20-21) Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
It is the PRODUCTof your SALVATION • It is the PROPELLING of the SHIP
(1Co 4:1) Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. (1Co 4:2) Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
The kinds of servant in the N. T. • “doulos” Slave • (Rom 1:1) Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, • “diakonos” waiter “deacon” • (Joh 12:2) There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. • “huperetes” under oarsmen • (1Co 4:1) Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
(Eph 4:1) I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, (Eph 4:2) With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; (Eph 4:3) Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
It is the PRODUCTof your SALVATION • It is the PROPELLING of the SHIP • It is the PREFERRING of others over SELF
(Rom 12:10) Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honourpreferring one another;
(Php 2:2-5) Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
(Psa 100:2) Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
It is the PRODUCTof your SALVATION • It is the PROPELLING of the SHIP • It is the PREFERRING of others over SELF • It is the PREPARATIONof our STEWARDSHIP
(1Pe 2:12) Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
(2Co 5:9) Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. (2Co 5:10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (2Co 5:11) Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
(Rom 14:10) But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (Rom 14:11) For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (Rom 14:12) So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
