  4. Presentation Vocabulary to Know Slide • Presentations don’t use pages, they use slides. There are several different Slide Layouts to choose from

  5. Presentation Vocabulary to Know Objects Slides contain objects that can be moved and manipulated. • Text • Images • Videos • Sounds Are all examples of objects

  6. Presentation Vocabulary to Know Transitions • The movement between slides in the presentation • Transitions add movement to the presentation

  9. Presentation Vocabulary to Know Animation • The movement of objects on a slide • Animations also add movement and excitment to the presentation Warning: Too many animations can be distracting and make your audience lose interest!

Presentation Vocabulary to Know Slide Design • The background images of the slide. • Changing slide designs will alter how your slide looks • Once one slide is changed, they all change • Slide designs even have different color formats within each design… making for hundreds of design choices.

  11. Your Challenge Today is to Create a PowerPoint Presentation about yourself The Presentation must contain: • 5-6 slides • 3 different slide layouts • Different objects on each slide • Transitions between slides • A slide design

  12. Create a Title Slide • From the Home Menu Ribbon, click on the drop down menu for New Slide and select Title Slide. • Most of the time, a new presentation will start with a Title Slide

  13. Add another slide with an Image From the Home Menu Ribbon, click on the drop down menu for New Slide and select a one of the following: • Title and Content • Content with Caption • Picture with Caption Click the Insert Picture from File icon and direct the computer to a picture of yourself.

  14. Continue adding Slides You will need to add 3 different slide layouts for slides that tell about: • Your favorite animal • Something you enjoy doing outside of school • Tell us one more thing about you that we don’t know • A slide that closes your presentation SAVE OFTEN

  15. Adding Transitions • Slide transitions are added by clicking on the slide and selecting a transition. • On the Animations Menu Ribbon, click the drop down menu for Transitions and see all the choices.

  16. You have 3 minutes to select a Transition

  17. Previewing Your Presentation • From the Slide Show Menu Ribbon, click on From Beginning or From Current Slide to watch your presentation. • Press the ESC key to end the preview or presentation
