  1. Acne And Acne Treatment, All You Should Know Before Starting The Treatment

  2. Acne is a skin disease that involves the oil glands that are found at the base of hair follicles. The hormonal changes in the human body give birth to these glands causing acne. Certain studies have shown that acne can also occur due to genetic reasons. If the mother/father had acne, then the child is also prone to have them. It is also estimated that about ¾ of the total population are prone to have acne between the age of 11 and 30 years.

  3. Types of Acne There are six types of acne, these are:

  4. 1. Whiteheads: This acne type is very small in appearance and remains under the skin. 2. Blackheads: They are quite visible. They do not occur due to dirt and so they do not go away even after cleaning/washing your face. 3. Papules: Papules are the small pink bumps present on the surface of the skin and are very visible.

  5. 4. Pustules: These are red in color and have pus on their top. 5. Nodules: These are large solid pimples and are formed deep in the skin. They are usually painful in nature. 6. Cysts: These are also filled with pus and are painful. They can easily scar the skin surface.

  6. People tend to spend a large amount of their money on different cosmetics to get rid of acne but in most cases, they end up with no good results. Treatment of acne usually includes different types of creams and gels mostly containing benzoyl peroxide that helps in removing dead skin cells and preventing clogging of the skin or salicylic acid that helps to unclog the pores.

  7. Other modes are: Oral antibiotics or tropical antimicrobials and contraceptives. Salicylic acid that helps to unclog the pores. Physical procedures like chemical peels But treatments are not only frustrating but also very expensive and have many side effects also.

  8. Quick Tips Be careful while choosing a dermatologist. Ask your doctor to show you the before and after photographs of the patients they have treated Even if the treatment gives you positive results, you might be forced to continue the treatment as the problem tends to flare up again when discontinued. Switch to home remedies.
