    1. Options for Youth P.E. Class Directions

    2. There are 5 units for the class. For Each unit you will need to complete: 10 P.E. Log hours 1 sport article summary and opinion 1 diet/fitness article summary and opinion Turn in work for your final course paper which will be due with unit 5

    3. P.E.Log Hours In the back of your booklet there are log sheets to do this activity. You will need to do 10 hours for each unit, a total of 50 hours for the entire class.

    4. PE Log Hours You can log in between 30 minutes to 2 hours per day. Once it adds up to 10 you have completed the unit requirement. You can choose any activity that involves physical fitness for your log hours. Remember you cannot log more than 2 hours per day even if you exercise for more! Also do not log less than 30 minutes at a time.

    5. Summary and Opinions For each unit you need to find a sport article and write a half-page summary about the article and a half page opinion about the article that you choose. You may use newspapers, magazines or the internet for your articles. Be sure to turn in a copy of each article that you summarize! A great place to find sports articles is www.espn.com.

    6. Summary and Opinions For each unit you also will need to find an article relating to diet, health or fitness. You will then write a summary and opinion in the same way as you did for the sports article. A great place to find articles about diet and health is www.fitnesslink.com

    7. Course Paper You will work towards your course paper in each unit. It changes for each unit. For unit 1 you will choose a topic for your paper For unit 2 you will find the references for your paper For unit 3 you will create an outline for your paper For unit 4 you will turn in a rough draft of your paper For unit 5 you will turn in the final copy of the paper

    8. Course Paper Choosing a Topic is easy! For unit 1 you will need to complete the brainstorming exercises. Once you have completed them you will have 4 possible topics. You must choose one of the four topics that you brainstormed as your topic Once you have chosen a topic, now you are ready for the references page. You may use books, interview someone, articles from newspaper and the internet for your topic. A great way to start is to go to www.google.com and type in your topic. You will get several websites with information.

    9. Course Paper For unit 3 you will turn in an outline. Be Sure to follow the format: I. A. B. 1. 2. 3. For unit 4 you will turn in a rough draft. Be sure to include another copy of your references! You will next revise your paper and turn in the final copy for unit 5.

    10. Final Grade By the end of the class you will have: A total of 50 logged hours of physical fitness Summary/opinion for 5 sport articles and 5 diet/fitness articles Your final course paper Your final grade will be an average of all five units together You did it!!!!!!!!!!!!
