  5. " They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." (Acts 2:42-47)

  7. In Korinte onderdruk die rykes die armes, Party mense word dronk wanneer die gemeente saam kom. Dink party lede dat hulle geesteliker as die ander is omdat hulle sekere gawes het, Slaap ’n seun met sy stiefma en die gemeente doen niks. Glo hulle dat jy geslagsorgane gekry het om dit te gebruik met wie jy wil en wanneer jy wil. Sleep volgelinge van Christus mekaar na die hof toe; En word die rykes selfsugtig met dit wat hulle verniet by die Here gekry het. In Galasiërs gaan die volgelinge terug na ’n werke geloof en probeer redding deur goeie dade beërf, Hulle het die vryheid wat in Jesus is verruil vir die veiligheid van reëls en regulasies, of aan die ander kant het hulle die vryheid wat hulle gekry het gebruik om te doen net wat hulle wil!

In Efese het die gemeente vergeet dat dit wat hulle weet actually net die begin is en dat dit nou ook uitgeleef moet word, in later jare lees ons in Openbaring dat hierdie gemeenskap dade doen uit harte wat nie meer klop met die oorspronklike liefde wat in hulle gedruis het nie. In Kolossense het die gemeente so excited oor die filosofie en sielkunde van hulle dag geword dat hulle nie meer Jesus as die Meester beskou het nie, maar slegs as nog ’n goeie teacher en iemand wat ’n belangrike bydrae gemaak het. Jesus was nie meer die middelpunt van hulle lewens nie, hy was maar net nog ’n deel van ’n oorvol lewe. In Tessalonisense was die volgelinge amper so pre-occupied soos sommige in die huidige kerk met die eindtyd (dink Left-behind op steroids); ongelukkig het dit hulle nie gehelp om hulle lewens beter te lewe nie maar het egter gedien om te maak dat hulle lui geword het en net gewag het dat Jesus weer moet kom. In plaas daarvan dat die hoop van die toekoms hulle lewe in die hede inkleur het dit gemaak dat hulle ’n baie swart en wit lewe geleef het.

  9. Die brief vir die Hebreers is geskryf vir volgelinge wat aan die “Jesus en .....- sindroom” begin lei het. Jesus en engele, Jesus en Moses, Jesus en ... Jakobus skryf vir ’n gemeenskap wat ook groot op kennis was. Hulle kennis het egter nie in hulle lywe ingevloei en die ritmes van hulle week bepaal nie. Verder is hierdie gemeente pre-occupied gewees met die rykes en het ten koste van die armes hulle opgehef en vir hulle eerste plek gegee. Dan lees ons in kerk geskiedenis van gemeentes wat die Romeinse Ryk aan die brand geleef het maar tog nie sonder probleme nie. Sommige van hierdie vroeë volgelinge het die Here verloën toe die verdrukkings kom, ander het egter getrou gebly. Later het die kerk legal geword en het die huwelik tussen staat en kerk gelei tot ’n verdraaiing van die oorspronlike plan. Die kerk het skielik in die crusades deel geword van ’n jihad. “Neem Jesus aan of sterf” het die diaboliese boodskap geword. Die kerk het stelselmatig verval en agteruitgegaan tot die Here dmv die hervorming Sy bruid weer terug geroep het na Sy planne en idees..

  10. Maar die hervorming was ‘n lang tyd gelede. Hier op eie bodem het die Suid Afrikaanse kerk God se “stamp of approval” op apartheid geplaas en is miljoene mense in die naam van Jesus verdruk en verarm! Vandag dink ons saam oor Kleipot …

The Holy Spirit gathers them and does his work in them. In these communities one of the sinners is called pastor and given a designated responsibility in the community. Matt 16.18 • Jesus is die hoof van die kerk (maw die leier) Ef 5:23, Col 1:18 • Die kerk is nie ‘n gebou nie maar mense. • Die kerk is oor meer as ‘n Sondag. • ‘n Kerk diens is nie wat meeste mense dink dit is nie (kerk geskiedienis). • Die woord ‘kerk’ is nie in die Nuwe Testament ‘n geestelike woord nie. • Ekklesia beteken letterlik om “uit” te “roep” – die Israel prentjie. • Die kerk bestaan uit mense wat almal ‘n roeping het. • Die kerk is nie ‘n verdedigende entiteit nie maar ‘n aanvallende een. • Die kerk is ‘n nuwe familie. • Die kerk is divers.

  14. “He who is alone with his sin is utterly alone. It may be that Christians, not withstanding corporate worship, common prayer, and all their fellowship in service, may still be left to their loneliness. The final breakthrough to fellowship do not occur because, though they have fellowship with one another as believers and devout people, they do not have fellowship as the undevout, as sinners. The pious fellowship permits no one to be a sinner. So everyone must conceal his sin from himself and from their fellowship. We dare not be sinners. Many Christians are unthinkably horrified when a real sinner is suddenly discovered among the righteous. So we remain alone with our sin, living in lies and hypocrisy.
