  1. Are Flats in Andheri Unaffordable for Many? Andheri is not only the busiest but also one of the costliest suburbs of Mumbai. It continues to be a sought-after location for wealthy property buyers who are in search for luxurious flats. Even though properties in Andheri are flamboyantly priced, many buyers prefer this area due to top-quality infrastructure and proximity to prime areas within the city. Many reputed developers have their residential projects in this area. If you are looking for a flat in Andheri, you can get various property options in the eastern and western part of this suburb. Not just a residential hub, but Andheri is also regarded as a prime hub for fashion, shopping and entertainment. From frequency of local trains, buses to well-maintained roads, there are various factors due to which this area is one of the costliest in Mumbai. In 2013, premium properties in Andheri west were available within the range of 25,000 to 30,000 per square feet. As per property rates in July 2015, prime properties (including 2 or 3 BHK flats in Mumbai in this area are available at 27,280- 33,000 INR per square feet. Many reputed real estate developers have their residential and commercial projects in Andheri West. This location also boasts of finest restaurants, malls, theaters and the famous Kokilaben Hospital. ) Like Bandra, this suburb is still unaffordable to many. Andheri property rates have also remained high due to the advent of Mumbai Metro. The metro line has not only connected this suburb with other parts of Mumbai, but also reduced the travel time to a great extent. The Andheri metro station is connected through a skywalk with Andheri railway station. This has not only strengthened the connectivity to Andheri Station and Ghatkopar but also pushed the rates of properties, especially commercial spaces.
