  1. THE SERVICE OF THE CHRISTIAN 1 Peter Ch. 2 v 13-25

  2. The Submission of the Christian Life • The command that requires submission • The Compulsion that governs submission • The Characteristics that distinguish submission • The Categories that exhibit submission

  3. A PRECEPT TO BE OBEYED 1 Peter 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

  4. Without Discourtesy • Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear

  5. Eph 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

  6. Col 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

  7. Without Distinction not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

  8. A PRINCIPLE TO OBSERVE 1Pet 2:19For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 1Pet 2:20For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently?

  9. The Right Message James 1:4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Patience

  10. Tolerance Endurance Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

  11. Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

  12. 1Pet 2:21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 1Pet 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 1Pet 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

  13. A PLEASURE TO BE OBTAINED 1Pet 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
