  1. The Recovery from Rumors of the government's economy convince us that the worm has turned around: the recession is officially over and a recovery is on its way. With the Dow breaking through 10,000, perhaps the double dip scare in a recession was just that. When they returned to Maine Street, the buzz of real people made official history: middle-class baby boomers telling me to keep in mind another time when connecting the two ends was so hard. Stuck in a bill Why the big strife between the government and the people? It's just - we, the people, are stuck in a bill - that's why! Monetary policy easing, including the proposed Health Bill, will eventually pay off for the little man, even if it appears the government is taking over the share. Author John Kozy, in his article "American Healthcare Crisis" provides a clear picture of how, when all is said and done, we are the unit of income that goes into the bill.

  2. Economic Recovery Insights Yes, I know power aptly calls it leisure without work, but how interesting it is to put one word in another, which in an economic context is just the opposite. This reminds me of what the IRS calls a tax return per person as "voluntary compliance." God - I've always thought that volunteering means you can or can't… your choice, right? According to the same logic, can there really be rest without work? I don't think so. Any economist will tell you that when a country has a healthy economy, it is backed by a strong profit engine (think Detroit in the 1960s). In turn, strong private income stimulates consumption, and private consumption has been shown to drive two-thirds of the US economy. Purchase Information

  3. Think like that? Can claims that recovery is underway be linked to positive thinking? Since Norman Vincent Peel wrote The Power of Positive Thinking in 1952, his concepts have permeated society from religion to economics. The popular "Law of Attraction" (which says that what you think is what you attract into your life) serves as a 21st century version. Maybe if enough people think we're recovering, maybe they'll spend as much time as 1999? I am curious.
