  10. The Cashless System(Odyssey & Gold)

  11. Odyssey & Gold Overview • Odyssey and Gold are CBORD’s campus card systems • They allow students to pay for meals and other goods and services with their existing campus ID or a separate card • This enables your institution to implement its campus card meal and spending programs • Odyssey and Gold can use a variety of payment terminals: • MICROS/Simphony registers • Epic/Aero card readers • The Odyssey Web Sales module • GET web/mobile • Interfaces to a growing number of third-party payment systems

  12. Odyssey & Gold Integration with GET:Benefits • Mobile ordering with GET allows your institution to combine the convenience and functionality of GET with your existing Odyssey/Gold system • To order food with GET Food (described in introduction) • To deposit to and manage their campus card accounts with GET Funds (described in more depth later)

  13. Odyssey & Gold Integration with GET:Implementation & Configuration Odyssey/Gold • Server (OpenVPN, Windows firewall) • Application (socket/terminal definition, plans, account parameters) • Environment (hardware firewall, network routing) GET Admin • System settings • Merchant settings • Menus

  14. The POS System (MICROS)

  15. POS System Overview • MICROS (a.k.a. the “POS system”) is an Oracle POS platform CBORD sells and supports • Cashiers and retail managers use the MICROS application at touchscreens, desktops, and tablets as registers to ring up customer orders • Registers can use cash, credit card, or Odyssey/Gold accounts for payment • Register screens can be customized with buttons for your institution’s menus and credit card, cash, or Odyssey/Gold payment options

  16. POS System Integration with GET:Usage & Benefits • Your organization can create a merchant in GET for each RVC in MICROS and menus that link to the corresponding menus in MICROS • Students can then order food from an existing MICROS RVCs from the GET CBORD Student app • Orders placed this way are posted to the MICROS database and generate notifications to the applicable kitchen printers and display systems just as an order placed from a MICROS register would

  17. Food Printout Examples Standalone GET printer MICROS kitchen printer

  18. POS System Integration with GET:Implementation & Configuration • MICROS application • Employee • Workstation • RVC • GET interface server • IIS • MICROS and GET interface server environments • GET Admin • System settings • Merchant settings • Menus

  19. GET Funds Meal Plan Purchase/Change

  20. Meal Plan Purchase/Change:Overview & Benefits • Patrons can use the GET web interface to change their Odyssey or Gold meal plan • And (for Gold clients) purchase an additional meal plan • This helps reduce campus card office workload by enabling students to do common meal plan account changes themselves

  27. GET Funds Automatic Deposits

  28. Automatic Deposits:Overview & Benefits • Patrons can use the GET web interface to set GET to automatically initiate a deposit to their campus card account • When its balance drops below a given threshold • On the schedule of their choice • This makes ordering with GET easier for patrons by eliminating the need to manually check their campus card balance and do a deposit if their balance is too low

  34. Bill Me: Overview & Benefits • Bill Me gives patrons another way to pay for GET deposits when credit card is inconvenient or not an option • It does this by allowing patrons to request to be billed for an amount deposited to an Odyssey or Gold account • The Bill Me feature can be implemented in two ways: • GET deposits the funds to an active account, where they are available to use immediately • GET deposits the funds to an inactive account, where they will be available to use when the account becomes active • GET emails the request for funds to the Odyssey or Gold administrator responsible for posting the associated charges to the student billing system

  40. My Card:Overview & Benefits • GET My Card allows students to use the GET CBORD Student app as their ID card for payments at MICROS registers and Epic/Aero terminals • Requires a Motorola 2D barcode scanner that connects to the terminal via USB • This gives students with the app the flexibility to pay for food anywhere their campus cards are accepted when it’s more convenient to order in person than from the app • It also gives students a handy backup card to use to pay for food if they lose or forget their physical ID card

  41. My Card: Usage

  42. My Card:Implementation & Configuration • Will need to buy barcode scanner for each terminal where My Card will be used • Contact your CBORD sales representative for a quote • GET Admin • System Settings
