  4. STANDARD- 7N.S. 1.3Convert fractions to decimals and then to percents.

  5. OBJECTIVE- HUSKIES WILL BE ABLE TO DISTINGUISH HOW TO CHANGE FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS AND PERCENTS.

  6. Vocabulary 1) Convert- to change a number, but remain it’s original value.

  7. Fractions to Decimals • Divide the numerator by the denominator. (little dog in the house/ big dog outside.)

  8. Example #1 • 5/8 into a decimal. 0.625 62.5%

  9. Example #2 • Convert 180/ 365 into a decimal. Round the decimal to the nearest tenth! .49 = .50

  10. Decimals to Percents Move over decimal twice to the right. Add a percent sign.

  11. Example #3 • 180/ 365 into a percent. Round the percentage to the nearest tenth! 49 %= 50%

  12. Example #4 • 19/ 25 into a percent. .76 = 76%

  13. Percents to Decimals Move decimal to the left twice.

  14. Example #5 • Percent 75% • Decimal- • 0.75

  15. Decimals to Fractions Find the last place in the decimal Place the decimal over that place Reduce

  16. Example #6 • Decimal- 0.40 • Fraction- • 40% • 2/5

  17. Example #7 • Decimal- 0.7 • Fraction- • 70% • 7/10
