Tracker b tau Software Project • February 2001 first series of mini-workshops has been organized on Track reconstruction, vertex reconstruction, joint session with Muon and ECAL PRS Groups (all information on Tracker btau WEB Page) • end March 2001 MB approved PRS Organization (L1-L2) • April 2001 Document on Software Tasks and deliverables for CPT Project (available from Tracker b tau Web Page) • June 2001 Mini-workshops on Alignment, b-tagging, tau tagging • and joint session with Jet-met HCAL PRS Group • June 2001 First meeting on Data-Handling and workshop foreseen 4 September 2001
Simulation Task Breakdown • 1) Model of Geometry and Material(complete tracker, beam test setup) G3 and G4 • 2) Transport: tuning of tracker specific physics effects( “ cutoff on delta rays, photons and low energy interactions, simhits) G3 and G4 • 3) Model of detector and electronics response (digi and zero soppression) • Related tasks: detector HW, beam-test, (mis) -alignment, database storage, CCS simulation (& framework)
Reconstruction task breakdown • Use same architecture for on-line and off-line reconstruction. Off-line reconstruction could/will use slower procedures (I.e. more data, more sophisticated algorithms, full coverage in eta -phi) • 1) Cluster Reconstruction • 2) Track Reconstruction • 3) Vertex Reconstruction (primary and secondary vertex) • Related tasks: beam-test, Module tests, alignment, data-handling, database, CCS Reconstruction (& framework) • More details on ongoing and planned activities on Tracker b tau Web page (this comes from the first series of mini-workshops done in collaboration with e-gamma and muon groups)
Alignment Task Breakdown • Includes software tools needed for Tracker Alignment and for the integration with the Muon-link System. • 1) Tools for displace set of tracker modules • 2) Different Alignment algorithms • 3) Simulation of the Tracker Position Monitoring System • 4) Specific Cluster Reconstruction for Position Monitoring System etc.. • 5) Tracker Alignment Data Base Prototype • 6) Software for the integration with the Muon-link System • Related tasks: Simulation, Reconstruction, Beam Test, database, • Detector hardware..
Data Handling Task Breakdown • Software that lie at the interface between online-reconstruction software and hardware. Coordination between Software and data acquistition is crucial. • 1) FED Clusterization (Online) and zero soppression • 2) readout Software Partitions • 3) ADC dynamic range definition (calibration) • 4) Data synchronization in time • 5) Data formatting • 6) Data and Detector monitoring • Related tasks: Reconstruction, Simulation, TK Electronic integration, HW (FED, ADC, ..) Beam Tests, Tridas (& framework)
B Tagging Task Breakdown • This task cover the b tagging at the different stages of the reconstruction and event selection (L3 Trigger, off-line). • Tools for common issues with other sub-detectors will be done in close collaboration with the other PRS groups • Related Tasks: Simulation, Reconstruction, Data-handling, All the other PRS Groups, CCS and Tridas. (on-line farms), Physics Analysis • Next series of mini-workshops on b-tagging, tau tagging in collaboration with jet-met group.
