Network Storage • Personal Storage ( F Drive) • The F drive is automatically mapped for all faculty and staff from any machine in the McIntire School • Use this drive for all Personal Data • Practical Limit of 2 GB, no actual limit set • Can be accessed remotely while connected to the McIntire VPN
Network Storage • Shared Storage ( G Drive) • The G drive is automatically mapped for all faculty and staff from any machine in the McIntire School • Use this drive for all Shared Data • All faculty and staff at the School have access to files on the G drive • Can be accessed remotely while connected to the McIntire VPN
Shadow Copies • Snapshots of the F and G drive are taken at 7 AM and 12 noon • Files can be restored from these snapshots at any time
Backups • Both the F and G drives are backed up nightly • Backups go back two weeks • Backup tapes are transported offsite for disaster recovery purposes • If you have deleted a file, contact me to have it restored

Mobile Computing Policy • 1.0 Overview • The process that mobile computers must meet to leave the McIntire network. Both the device and any sensitive data should be password protected and encrypted. • How mobile computers and devices will be protected while outside the organizational network. • 2.0 Purpose • This policy is designed both to protect the confidentiality of any data that may be stored on the mobile computer and to protect the organizational network from being infected by any hostile software when the mobile computer returns. This policy also considers wireless access. • 3.0 Scope • This policy covers any computing devices brought into the organization or connected to the organizational network using any connection method. This includes but is not limited to desktop computers, laptops, and handheld devices.
