IIT Bombay – an introduction • The first batch of students was admitted in 1958. • Since then to Aug., 2006, around 31,000 students have graduated, around 41% undergraduate and 59% postgraduate & Ph.D. • Student enrolment has also grown steadily. Admit top 2%. • The Institute has 13 departments, 3 schools, 5 interdisciplinary programs and 11 centers. • Our educational programs are consistently ranked amongst the best in the world
