  14. Trends Recent trends show that the number of non-Christian religions has increased dramatically Roughly one-third of New Zealanders claim no religious affiliation

  15. Controversial Issues #1 Many Protestants are not regularly practicing Only 10-20% of Protestants claim they go to church regularly The numbers of Christians in New Zealand is declining

  16. Controversial Issue #2 In the 2006 census, one third of New Zealanders claimed no religion This means that the information provided on religion in New Zealand is only based on the participants who answered Large unknown

  17. Interesting Facts New Zealand is a fairly liberal nation with homosexual marriage. The driving age is 15. The Drinking age is 18. Lake Taupo was the source of the largest known eruption in the world in the last 70 thousand years. Sir Edmund Hillary – the first man to reach the peak of Mount Everest was a New Zealander and his face is on the New Zealand $5 bill.
