  1. A Cloud of WitnessesAnd An Open Mic 1 John 5:6-12

  2. These Three HaveSomething to Say “This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” (v.6-8)

  3. “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life and it is these that bear witness of Me.” John 5:39 • WATER: His baptism and His identification with sinners. • BLOOD: His death and resurrection and His payment for and defeat of sin. • SPIRIT: the Holy Spirit constantly drawing attention to Jesus • Through His works • Through the scriptures

  4. Others Have Something to Say “If we receive the witness of men…” (v.9) • 1 John 1:1-4 • Luke 1:1-4 • Acts 1:1-3

  5. Others Have Something To Say “…the witness of God is greater; for the witness of God is this, that He has borne witness concerning His Son.” (v.9) • Baptism of Jesus (Matthew 3) • Transfiguration of Jesus (Luke 9) • Crucifixion of Jesus (Matthew 27)

  6. What Do You Have to Say? “The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness that God has borne concerning His Son. And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” (v.10-12)
