  4. Two Years Ago • For Fiscal Year 2011 (July-June) • 139 notifications • 48 inspections • Inspection rate of 34.5% • 3 Enforcement cases • 93.8% compliance rate

  5. Last Year • For Fiscal Year 2012 • 272 notifications • 29 inspections • Inspection rate of 10.7% • 5 enforcement cases • 83% compliance rate

  6. This Year • For Fiscal Year 2013 • 238 notifications • 27 inspections • Inspection rate of 11.3% • 6 enforcement cases • 78% compliance rate

  7. So Far This Year • MDH has 233 certified lead firms • 187 Contractors • 46 Consultants • Of the 187 contractors, 39 have notified MDH. • Of the 39, 27 have been inspected.

  8. Improved Numbers? • MDH has established an inspection protocol • 10% overall inspection rate • 10% individual inspection rate for designated contractors • Visit all contractors who notify at least once. • What this means: • Contractors will see MDH more and on a regular basis • MDH may appear in the middle of nowhere!

  11. Individual Licensing • Not licensed • Using RRP registration • Expired • Individuals may work on their old license and current training diploma PROVIDING they: • Submit a renewal application • Have a copy of the current training diploma with them • Does NOT apply to initial licensing

Individual Licensing (cont’d) • Individuals do NOT have: • Thirty days to work before they submit an application • Thirty days to work from the day they submit the application • Thirty days to work before they take a relicensing class • “I took the course, but forgot my diploma” will also be verified

Paperwork/Administrative • Notification • Failing to notify • Not waiting five days • Amending • Contractors must amend when they are on/off-site • Project Records • No sign-in/out logs • Contractor certification not on-site • Occupant Protection Plan/Warning Signs • Removing warning signs before clearance is achieved

  14. Work Practices • Small, Large, Exterior work areas • Leaving debris • Debris storage • Not storing debris as it is generated • Leaving debris in areas that are not secure • Clearance Inspections • Not taking enough samples
