The previous slide shows a schematic of the CDA checker. • You provide an on-the-wire xml example • The tool checks the example against the on-the-wire CDA schema, and on-the-wire schematrons • The tool converts the on-the-wire example to a templated equivalent • The tool checks the templated example against the templated CDA schema, and templated schematron • The results of both the on-the-wire and templated checks are shown in a browser • Alternatively, the tool can be used to render an example Validating CDA

Download the tooling pack from TRUD • (look in “NHS Message Specifications” area for the “NHS Interoperability Specifications Tooling Pack”) • Unzip the file • Read the included CDAInstanceChecker_UserGuide • Load some folders from a DMS (Guide tells you what to do) • Test an instance Validating CDA
