  3. What is data? Prescriptive Teaching 101 • da·ta    (dt, dt, dät) KEYpl.n.(used with a sing. or pl. verb) • Factual information, especially information organized for analysis or used to reason or make decisions.

  4. Prescriptive Teaching 101 Educational Data Mining (EDM) is an emerging discipline, concerned with developing methods for exploring the unique types of data that come from educational settings, and using those methods to better understand students, and the settings which they learn in.

  9. What information do we have on the student from standardized assessment? IRI, ISAT, IELA, PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc…. What is the student receiving academically? Are services being provided? What strategies work best for the student? Have interventions been provided? What does the student come to school “with”? SES, Mobility, Health Concerns, etc…
