  2. Preliminary Work • Hired new employee in January 2006 and identified WPFL as one of 3 areas of focus. • WPFL-Hawaii • Re-establish WPFL activities in Hawaii • Start with existing groups then expand

  3. Strategy • Establish a point of contact • Tailor each campaign to the organization • Find a champion in each organization so donation promotion activities will be ongoing

  4. Audience – 3 Groups • Group 1: 27 registered workplace partners in Hawaii. • Group 2: Target organizations that we work with that are not yet registered. • Group 3: Expand to other employers – through WPFL contacts.

  5. Group 1 • 27 registered workplace partners in Hawaii. • Re-establish point-of-contact • Develop plan of action for employee education • Determine timeframe for action

Group 1(cont’d) • Send e-mails informing them about Donate Life Month in April and encourage them to do something to promote donation during the month such as: • Lunch and learns • Payroll stuffers • Staff informational tables • Organ and tissue donation-related personal stories in organization’s newsletter • Work with blood bank and bone marrow to combine efforts

  7. Group 2 • Target organizations that we work with that are not yet registered. • ODCH Board members’ organizations • Department of Motor Vehicles • Hawai`i Coalition on Donation members • Schools • Hospitals • Volunteers’ workplaces • Corporations / Vendors

  8. Do – Group 2 • February Board meeting – agreement to help us with their organizations • Setting up Lunch-and-Learns with the DMV’s • started 3/7/06 • Hawaii Coalition members – April meeting • Sign up the schools and hospitals we have been working with • Send letters to vendors • Work with volunteers to identify contacts in their workplaces

  9. Group 3 • Expand to other employers – through WPFL contacts.

  10. Anticipated outcomes & next steps • By June 30, 2006 establish 10 more workplace partners • Double the number of workplace partners (54) by the end of the year • Initiate donation promotion action in 27 workplace partners by the end of the year
