  1. Outdoor Digital Signage - Eye-Catching Outdoor Advertising As the cost of advertising in newspapers, TV and radio increases, and yet audiences to these traditional media declines, finding more cost-effective ways of communicating with people is something outdoor advertisers are always looking for. For more information, visit: http://www.icons.co.in/about-icons.php Digital display has been around for a few years now with screens a common sight in places such as shopping malls, airports, bus stations and even pharmacies. These screens are simply modern LCDs and plasmas hooked up to media players-or networked-to enable the playing of advertising and promotional content. The great advantage to digital signage is that it reaches a mass audience for a comparatively low-cost, with the average screen having thousands of people seeing the screen on a daily basis. Outdoor digital signage can reach even larger numbers of people with commuters, travelers in cars and public transport and shoppers all passing the screens. It is also a good nighttime advertising system with the screens extremely visible during the night, providing viewable content to revelers, theater-goers and other evening audiences. There are downsides to it, of course, the main one being the higher costs of having to protect the screen from the weather and other environmental hazards.

  2. Weather protection is critical for outdoor digital signage and this is often where the added costs come in. Outdoor screens that can function in rain and other weather elements are highly expensive, which is the reason it is lagging behind indoor systems.
