  2. MACT – Subpart ZZZZ (4Z) If you have a ….. Stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine (R.I.C.E.) You’re Subject !!

  3. MACT – Subpart ZZZZ (4Z) Compliance Date Existing CI at Area Source May 3, 2013 Existing SI at Area Source October 19, 2013

  4. NC – Engine Population (with an Air Permit)

  5. MRO – Engine Population TOTAL Engines 336 CI Engines at Area Source w/ Emission Limit 42 CI Emergency at Area Source 86 SI Emergency at Area Source 24 New Emergency at Area Source 73 New Non-Emerg. at Area Source 28 Emergency Major Source 47 Assorted Others 36

  6. Emission Limits Area Source – Non Emergency - Existing CI (Table 2d) - 300 < HP ≤ 500 : CO conc. of 49 ppmvd or 70% CO reduction - 500 < HP : CO conc. of 23 ppmvd or 70% CO reduction - Existing SI (Table 2d) - 500 < 4SRB : formald. conc. of 2.7 ppmvd or 76% formald. reduction - 500 < 4SLB : CO conc. of 47 ppmvd or 93 % CO reduction *stack test conducted at any load (40 CFR 63.6620(i)). However, pressure drop cannot change by more than 2 inches of water at 100 % load from the pressure drop recorded at initial performance testing (Table 2b) Table 3 for Subsequent Stack Testing

  7. Emission Limits Major Source – Non Emergency - 500 < Existing or New 4SRB (Table 1a) - 500 < New 2SLB, CI (Table 2a) - 250 ≤ New 4SLB (Table 2a) - 100 ≤ Existing CI (Table 2c) - 100 ≤ Existing 2SLB, 4SLB, 4SRB ≤ 500 HP (Table 2c) - 100 ≤ Existing Landfill Gas ≤ 500 (Table 2c) *Stack test at 100 % of load +/- 10% for engines greater than 500 HP (40 CFR 63.6610(d)(5)) Table 3 for Subsequent Stack Testing

  8. Stack Test Process • Submit Stack Test Protocol to NC DAQ 45 days prior to test Stationary Source Compliance Branch (SSCB) will review and approve • Notify Regional Office 15 days prior to test Difficult for Peak Shavers • Regional Office may observe the stack test • Submit Stack Test Report/Results within 30 days to SSCB via Regional Office.

  9. Non-Permitted Facilities • Must Comply with MACT 4Z • No Compliance Inspections • Complaint Oriented Inspections Only
