The OTú Model – Team Play • What do we mean by Team Play? Know who and where? Combination play with team mates to: Increase the chances of scoring when in possession Decrease the chances of opponents scoring when not in possession The Ability to Anticipate Movements and Synchronise Who Goes Where During Play or Set Piece Situations Skill Development

The best way to develop Team Play? • Games..... • Modified Game • A game that has been modified: • Playing Rules – lift and strike, ground hurling only • Playing numbers – 5 v 5, 6 v 6, 7 v 7, 9 v 9, Backs & Forwards • Playing area – narrow pitch, short pitch, more goal posts • Scoring options – only certain players allowed score, points only, goals only • Playing equipment – different type or size of ball • STEP formula? Sometimes you must suspend one aspect of the Game to develop another

Take a 15 minute session with the group Referring to your prompt card, familiarise yourself with the activity. Follow the IDEA model and coach the skill to the group. Set up an appropriate activity to Team Play – coach the players as they practice. Develop the activity towards a Full Game Use STEP model to progress Lets Go and Do It!
