  2. Overview of Peerless Saw Company Company started in 1931 Purchased the company in 1999 with 50% partner Manufacture custom madecircular saw bodies ready for carbide tipping Approximately 50 employees Expected sales for 2013 – approximately $10.5 million

  3. How much is it going to cost me to find out? Am I going to have to hire a consultant? - If so how much will that cost me? How much time is it going to take to put a system in place? How or who is going to manage this system? How much more of my time is going to be taken up with trying to manage a new system?

  4. What would you hope to gain, if it works? • Cut Operating costs • Improve Productivity • Increase Sales • Improve Safety • Improve Quality • Improve the Bottom Line/Make more Money • Recoup the cost of putting this plan in place!

  5. Why We Chose to Find Out! • Had someone I trusted who had gone through this process with the company he worked for and it was a Huge Success! • Didn’t really see a downside • Not a complicated process

What has happened in addition to the metrics • Operations • Has completed over 780 tasks in the past year (Average of 110/person or 2/wk) • OTD has improved by approximately 10% • Have personnel contributing more today than I ever dreamed they would or could • Eliminated 22 potential safety hazards over the past twelve months (OFI’s)

What has happened in addition to the metrics • Sales • Increased prices by 6% on 5 accounts, generated $18,000 in new profit – Same as adding new sales of about $150,000 (see Ron’s spreadsheet) • Lowered pricing on key product line • Created new product line (non cracking saw) • Bigger share through incentives with key accounts
