  2. . Introduction The people of Oldham would like to take you on a journey to show you what they do and where they go.

  3. Coat of arms • The coat of arms describes a person or a place through a picture. It was granted to Oldham on 7th November 1894 2 days bonfire night. The motto of the coat of arms means dare to be wise. The owl represents Owl-dam and the rings represent O for Oldham.

  4. Saint Joseph’s Saint Joseph’s old school got burnt down, by a fire in the 19070s so they knocked it down and built a new one. They have a peace garden with a mosaic and multi-sensory garden. Their uniform colours are blue, gold, brown, grey and white. There are 247 people in Saint Joseph’s.

  5. Places of Interest • Oldham has many places of interest like Oldham football ground – Boundary Park. It is place where the team practices and over 7,000 people watch their outstanding matches. Oldham Athletic play in the third tier of English football. They have played in the Premier League against teams like Manchester City and Manchester United. Now they play against smaller teams. In Oldham there are many parks like Tandle Hills the biggest park in Oldham. Tandle Hills has a monument on top of a hill where you can see lots the nearby motorways. It has 68 steps to walk up to it. At the top on the monument it explains all about World War Two. It is a monument to those who died and those who survived.

  6. Sport The people of Oldham like to dance in a dance class and others like to swim in a swimming pool than dance. People do gymnastics and run in races like cross country. People like to keep fit by doing Martial arts because it is a lot of body movement. Rugby is another one that a lot of people like to do there are many club like Saint Ann’s and water head. They have a ruby team called England ruby football league they are also known as the roughyeads. Roghyeads were called that in the 1800sfor there tuff material.
