  3. Read these 3 sentences carefully. Which sentence(s) has the science word used correctly? • I used the BALANCE to find out the rock was 18 centimeters long. • A BALANCE is a tool used to find the mass of an object. • The BALANCE of the plant is the part that is underground.

  4. Name 3 solids, 3 liquids, and 2 gases.

  5. What happens to the liquid in a thermometer? When it gets colder? Why don’t we use water in a thermometer?

  6. The first clocks, called sundials, used shadows to tell time. Why does the shadow change positions?
