Reading Intervention: Read 180 and System 44 Criteria used to determine eligibility: • ELA CST score-2013 • CELDT score-Fall 2013 • ELA Grade June 2014 • ELA Benchmark 1 & 2 scores-2013-14 • Lexile Level-STAR Test May 2014 (Identified students reading at 2 or more grade levels below current grade level) Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Safe

Read 180 and System 44: Class Structure Class will have 2 main parts: • Whole class instruction: teacher instructs entire class on the same skill/topic • Rotation time: • Computer Time-students work independently on software program that adjusts to student’s level • Small Group Time-teacher instructs small group of students on a skill/topic specific to their needs • Independent Reading Time-students read independently; books are chosen from R180/S44 Library based on Lexile Level Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Safe

Read 180 and System 44: CELDT-RFEP • Although your children may speak social English easily, fluency of academic language is what will allow them to be reclassifed as “Fluently English-proficient.”. • The goal is for all students to achieve a Lexile level of 800.
