  2. Scoring metrics • Each event is scored based on points, time or both. • This score will be applied to a matrix of Min / Max. • This score will represent the team’s performance which will convert to competition points. • The site information boards will explain the scoring criteria and penalties • Final scoring will be based on cumulative performance scores. • Course time will evaluated in 2 ways • Phase 1 – penalties given for teams who meet check-in gates. • Eg RMAS Blue to arr NLT 1302 at GR 345252. Team arr 1303 – penalty awarded. • Phase 2 – Sprint • No prescribed check in time – faster is better • All penalties awarded in Ph1 applied to this time • Competition points awarded against Min / Max matrix • No hold times

  3. Scoring Passport • Competition points and route penalties recorded in passport • Challenges • Challenge upheld = score scrubbed • Challenge rejected = unsportsmanlike behaviourpenalty • Scoring Redundancy • Sites will capture team competition points and penalties in a site report as well as the team PASSPORT • Sites will radio in team competition points and penalties to scoring center for near real-time tracking • Upon site closeout – site OIC will return to TOC and reconcile any report discrepancies • The Final check will be based off the data entered into the team PASSPORT • Upon crossing the finish line the PASSPORT will be brought to the scoring center • Any discrepancies will be adjusted to the data entered into the PASSPORT
