  1. The Premier By Erick Castillo Period 4

  2. Executive Summary

  3. I believe that this business will endure, prosper, and succeed because it will include exclusive restaurants with low prices, gaming stations for the kids, indoor playgrounds for the little children, many hotspots, small food courts to dine in when purchasing your food from our exclusive restaurants, large theater rooms, and a small basketball court for the teens and/or kids.

  4. Company Description

  5. This business will be a business of sole propriety and will be owned, run, and managed by Erick Castillo. I chose this type of business proprietorship because I want to have the sole responsibility of it (the business) and have full self-management. This business/company will be located in Miami, Florida for the reasons being that there are many tourist attractions there and so therefore, I want to attract the tourists. “The Premier” will be located there until further notice of success or prosper in the business, then I will probably make the company an international one.

  6. My business will have an expected opening date of June 24th. This is the day of my birthday and so therefore, I want to celebrate it with the brand new opening of my very own movie theater. My cinema will offer free movie tickets, free foods of any choice (from the restaurants inside my theater, of course), and free admissions into the arcade center and basketball court to the first 40 customers who come on opening day.

  7. At “The Premier”, striving to offer the best services to the customers of the theater is key, along with the best dines for them. The service and maintenance department will offer the customers a 100% satisfaction, guaranteed. My hired and greatly educated (in either cuisine cooking or maintenance) recruits will have the fastest and highest quality of food and service to gift the customers with, to feel the highest of satisfactions. In this company, the customer is always right.

  8. “The Premier” will open in South Beach, Miami, Florida and will become into a larger franchise if and when I notice an increase in success and prosper in the business. Then, I will locate “The Premier” in Orlando, Florida, an eventually spread it throughout the United States and hopefully maybe even the world. “The Premier” will be located near Westland Mall to attract more customers and since they are closer to the mall, they will not have to walk much. Convenience is everything for our customers.

  9. Immediate development goals will include: Having a great opening day Recruiting dedicated and highly educated employees in the hospitality (mostly cooking and service) fields. Having great exposure (ads, billboards, letters) towards my business.

  10. Industry Analysis

  11. Size: A multi-billion dollar industry annually and globally. Growth Rate: Having an exponential growth since its inception. Recent Data shows that from 2006 to 2011, there was a growth of more than double in the industry. History: The earliest documented account of an exhibition of projected motion pictures in the United States was in June 1894 in Richmond, Indiana by a man named Charles Francis Jenkins.

  12. The global movie theater and cinema industry is set to benefit from rising demand for discretionary services like cinema outings and recovery in consumer spending, according to IBIS World. In an effort to attract more cinemagoers more regularly, movie theaters are likely to continue investing in newer technologies such as 3D to encourage demand and justify higher ticket prices to generate greater revenue.

  13. Target Market

  14. “The Premier” will focus its sales, service, and, of course, attention on any teenager or adult that wants to go to a movie theater and eat delicious food at the same time, play a small game of basketball with their friends or family, and/or even play some games at an arcade while waiting to go see their movie. This segment is made up of mostly all ages (anyone can go to a movie theater at any age), but I’d wager that the age span would estimate more closely at about 12-30 years of age because those are the years in which people are most interested in going to a movie theater.

  15. In addition, “The Premier” will come to satisfy the customers’ needs and wants by offering, as an independent theater owner, to be different and not conform to how other theater owners run their movie theaters. For example, I may replace the typical row seats found in theaters and use tables and chairs instead. This will give my patrons a cozier environment to enjoy the cinema. As a way to entice moviegoers, I can also provide discounts to big groups of people. This usually is the case when they gather for a corporate event or for a party. In ticket pricing, I may offer discount rates during off-peak hours and/or days. I can also offer discounts to students and senior citizens.

  16. Competition

  17. The strengths of Paragon, AMC, Muvico, and Cobb Theatres are that they all offer a wide variety of movie genres, they all promote brand new movies that attract the people, and they have promotions to sell to the public (discounts for large quantities of people, birthday parties, people of certain ages, etc.). The Weaknesses of Paragon, AMC, Muvico, and Cobb Theatres are that they only sell movie tickets, hardly sell any food that a restaurant might sell, have uncomfortable un-cushioned seats, and have extremely loud noises when it comes to hearing the movies.

  18. Some potential future competitors that I think might come to affect my business and the other theater owner’s businesses are other, newer people that might come to want to make a movie theater business of their own with their many new ideas to help them succeed and make a living.

  19. Operations

  20. “The Premier” will be located in the city of Miami, Florida. It will offer many options of doings from eating to watching movies to playing basketball and arcade games to keep the customers intrigued, of course. This movie theater will keep the families coming and it will have them entertained for all of the aforementioned reasons, it is for all ages, so everyone wins and it will have everything needed to keep the people comfortable and jolly.

  21. The staff and workforce at “The Premier” will include: • Highly experienced chefs • Dedicated service-men/service-women • Labor in valet parking • Ticket-sellers • Movie-clip-rollers • Waiters • Custodians • Maintenance • Security personnel

  22. The technology at “The Premier” will include having 3D motion pictures, highly sophisticated sounds for the movies inside the theater rooms, security cameras all around the theater, D-BOX motion reserved seating, high quality/ industrial kitchens for my chefs, systematically quick deliveries for the customers, easy evacuation systems (if ever needed), cashiers, computers, etc.

  23. Management and Organization

  24. My key employees will be: • Highly experienced chefs • Dedicated service-men/service-women • Labor in valet parking • Ticket-sellers • Movie-clip-rollers • Waiters • Custodians • Maintenance • Security personnel • Managers • Supervisors • Accountant • Mostly because I believe that they are all important to have in my company if I want to have success and prosper.

  25. I shall recruit my employees through the acts of interviewing, having volunteers, interns, experienced people, and advertising hiring through newspaper ads, television, billboards, and all other types of media. We want to make sure we are able to check everyone who applies or wants to work for us by doing so.

  26. Some compensations and incentives that I will give my employees will be to give them payed sick days off, personal days, vacation days, payed health insurance, raise in salaries every year if I notice they work dedicatedly, bonuses, position promotions, etc.

  27. Long Term Goals

  28. Some long-term goals that I want to achieve are: • Get worldwide recognition of my business • Be one of the best cinemas in the world • Be unique in all aspects of my work and ideas • To have comfortable employees and have a good environment for them. • To have the customers satisfied and want to come back every time. • To have success and prosper.

  29. The means for having those goals (previously mentioned) in mind are because I think that if I don’t have them and if I don’t achieve them, then I will not succeed at all in this business. If I don’t have my key employees comfortable in a happy environment, then they will not want to work, it’s only logical. If I am not unique in all aspects of my work and ideas, then I will be just like any other movie theater out there and not get as many customers as I would really like to have. Another reason for having these goals is because I need to make sure that I am always a step ahead of the competition.

  30. Financials

  31. I will have a personal accountant with me to make sure I meet all of my debts and needs in the business, banks to finance and work with, providers of products that the company will need, an organized set of manual and computerized accounting methods, procedures, and controls established to gather, record, classify, analyze, summarize, interpret, and present accurate and timely financial data for management decisions.

  32. My financial projections are: • Theater rooms- $1,200,000 • Exclusive restaurants- $800,000 • Gaming stations- $650,000 • Indoor playground- $570,000 • Hotspots- $300,000 • Small food court- $450,000 • Small basketball court- $330,000 • Monthly employee pay- $20,000 • Employee insurance- $50,000 • Company insurance- $500,000 • Totaling- $4,780,000
