Tidbits about Roald Dahl • -‘Boy: Tales of Childhood’ is about Dahl’s childhood, which largely influenced his work. • -The idea of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ came from Dahl wanting to invent chocolates for Cadbury while attending Repton School. • -Dedicated his book, ‘The BFG’, to his daughter, whom died young. The main character, Sophie, is named after his granddaughter. • -Was offered the ‘Order of British Empire’ but turned it down.
