The chances of conducting a background check on all of the employees is high when it comes to work that requires handling other people’s personal data or money, furthermore, the chances of conducting a FBI background check is high as well. • The standard search is not enough when it comes to businesses that handle large amounts of money or people’s personal information. For this kind of business, it’s advisable that you perform a federal background search on your people.

  3. The reasons as to why a standard search is not enough are simple. A standard criminal check relies on the national crime data base, this database is separated by jurisdiction because each jurisdiction is responsible for maintaining it. • Because of this, when you do a record search on somebody, it is based on their previous addresses. If an address has been falsified, the background check can come back with no criminal record even if they have one.

  4. Furthermore, a federal record search requires fingerprinting so there is no chance for someone to be give false information and bypass any possible issues. Finger prints are the key to information in the government record check and therefore the FBI record search is far more comprehensive than that of the standard one. • With federal criminal record searches, the government check uses a separate database which has compiled all of the educational, financial, litigation and criminal databases into one big one, so the issue of localization isn’t a problem.
