Islamic materials Wide dimension in descriptions: Commonly interchangeable as Arabic materials, with Arab-Islamic or Islamic-Arabic materials widely employed Also referred to as Near Eastern, Middle Eastern, North African and Oriental materials Islamic literature (i.e. the literatures of Islam) includes the study of modern and classical Arabic and the literature written in those languages (i.e. modern, classic, or ancient languages of the Middle East, such as Hebrew, Turkish, Persian, Azeri, Armenian and Uzbek) or influenced by Islamic culture such as Bengali, Kashmiri, Kurdish, Pakistani, Sindhi, Urdu, Jawi) and literatures from Islamic countries
