  3. Fats • Provides engery • Nuts, oils, butter, and meats ect. • Sounds like shouldn't eat, fat is important • Fat helps satisfy • Older 2 years need 30% fat • Greasy substance in organic tissue • 2 types: Saturated & Trans

  4. Protein • builds up, maintains, replaces tissues • Sources: meat, fish, dairy, nutsect. • muscles, organs, and immune mostly protein • used to build cardiac muscle • uses protein to make specialized molecules • tissue in molecules, as a food source • Different types that do different things

  5. Fibre • Hold tissue together • Sources: Grain, fruits , legumes • Fiber -carbohydrates that cant be digested • Both kinds of fiber as part of a healthy diet • Carbohydrates are with fiber • Material in long pieces that hold tissue • Types: Textile, natural & man made

  6. Vitamin • Makes body work • All foods • Strong bones to transmit nerveimpulses • Help body grow, develop, stay healthy • Builds strong, healthy teeth • Group of organic essentials • Types: macrominerals & trace minerals

  7. Minerals • Helps body grow, develop, & stay healthy • Diary, Veggies, Fruits, Meat, Grains ect. • Includes iron, manganese, copper, ect. • Build strong bones • Build strong, healthy teeth • Class substances occurring in nature • Types: macrominerals & trace minerals

  8. Water • Provides oxygen, makes up blood • In everything • You can get dehydrated • Water is also in lymph • Part of your immune system • A transparent, odorless, tasteless liquid
