  2. Calculate Blood Pressure A stethoscope is very useful in detecting the Blood pressure. Usually doctors attach the blood Pressure cuff to the arm and then listen to the heartbeat of a patient with the help of stethoscope.

  3. Detecting Heart Sounds This is the main feature of the stethoscope that it detects the heart sounds. Even a good quality stethoscope like Littmann can detect each and every sound very minutely.

  4. Measure Liver Size It is impossible to believe that a stethoscope can also measure the liver size. A test named as scratch test needs to be done at the time of measuring the liver size.

  5. Hearing Impairments This is also a very useful feature of a stethoscope. But a digital stethoscope is required for this. As a digital stethoscope can amplify the sounds in a more better way.

  6. Detects Bruit A Bruit is an audible sound which is associated with blood flow. A high-end stethoscope is required in detetcting Bruit. Detection of this sound is quite neccessary as it will give you a indication when your artries are blocked.
