  2. Status • Goals of this activity • Advance BP towards Blue Book status • Current activity • RFC 5050 has been reformatted into the CCSDS style • Includes the traditional CCSDS components • Graphics have been updated • Common components have been placed in appendices; e.g. SDNV • Comments on the specification are required BP_Protocol_20100408 • RFC 5050 is sufficient as a CCSDS specification with • A few additional items to support space community • Areas of CBHE and ECOS should be included

  3. Actions • Integrate the following areas in BP • Compressed Bundle Header Enc. (CBHE) • At least two implementations exists for DTN2; OSU, SourceForge • At least one implementation exists for ION • HOSC has implemented and is in integration testing • Currently a draft RFC v04 • Extended Class Of Service (ECOS) • Limited implementation at this time • Required to support extension which may be essential to space operations • Currently a draft RFC (I believe initial) • Specifically addresses JAXA concerns for multiple priorities

  4. Actions • Areas of extended effort to support BP deployment • ISS CLA in support of payload operations • Express Rack Interface Controller (RIC) unique • Now supported in ION and DTN2 • Consistent with the current CCSDS downlink • Decision has not been made to include in the baseline • Contact Graph Routing • Limited implementation at this time • A necessary response to • Schedulable and episodic inviews • Allows the removal of static routes • Natural derivative of planning activities • Currently a draft RFC (I believe initial)

  5. Actions • Integrate the following areas in BP • Security • Develop confidence in Bundle Security Protocol(Draft RFC) • Develop an operational posture(s) that allows broader usage • Allow a flexible response

  6. Testing and Validation Opportunities • Numerous Labs are testing • NASA • ESA • Greece • JAXA • Others • Various testing projects are inwork or proposed • DINET • ISS Payload activity • Meteron
