  2. DEFINITIONS • Multiplicand - Any number being multiplied. • 2x5 = 10 • Inverse Operation - An opposite operation that undoes another operation. • 2 x 5 = 10 10 ÷ 5 = 2

  3. Multiplication/Division Four Fact Families • Start with a simple multiplication fact. 3 x 5 = 15 • Change the order of the multiplicands. Why are we permitted to do this? 5 x 3 = 15 • Write the Inverse operations for multiplication facts. • 15 ÷ 3 = 5 • 15 ÷ 5 = 3
