Donor Acknowledgement Policy Donors who give <$250 online will immediately receive an automatic email acknowledgement; Donors who give <$250 via check or credit card over the phone will receive an email acknowledgement within one week; and Donors who give 250+ will receive an acknowledgement letter through the USPS within one week.

FDC Job Description Role: Foundation/Chapter Liaison Responsibilities: • Coordinate the Be the Cause Campaign • Present request for a Chapter Impact Campaign gift to board • Share stories about people and/or organizations served by key chapter programs • Make a personally meaningful gift to the annual campaign (Alpha Society) • Additional duties

Be the Cause Campaign Tasks • Recruit members to serve on your chapter’s annual campaign committee; • Provide appropriate acknowledgment and recognition of donors at the chapter level; • Communicate the value of the campaign; • Educate chapter leaders and members about the activities of the Foundation; and 5. Implement the annual campaign.

Campaign Implementation • Participate in establishing the chapter’s annual campaign goal; • Motivate individual members to increase participation; • Encourage chapter leaders to achieve 100% board participation; • Report to chapter leaders and members regularly on progress toward campaign goals; and • Check donor reports for accuracy.

Important Dates & Deadlines Mar 14 Deadline Finalize 2014 Be the Cause Campaign goal for chapters—a collaborative effort between the U.S. Foundation and each chapter Apr 10 Webinar Foundation Development Chairs’ Campaign Toolkit Webinar (2:00pm EST) Apr 18 Deadline Submit your chapter’s EMC Chapter Partnership Grant Report to the Foundation. (Only due if your chapter met the 2012 EMC goal and received a partnership grant in 2013) Apr 30 Deadline Submit 100 Percent Chapter Board Participation Form

Instructions to Access the Online Chapter Resource Guide Login to www.afpnet.orgwith your membership username and password Click on the green “Chapters” tab Scroll down to the “AFP Chapter Management Resource Guide” section Click on the link for “Foundation Development Chair” and in the right-hand column under “Chapter Leader Resources”

  25. Instructions to Access Chapter Tally Reports Go to www.afpnet.org and click on “Login” Enter username and password (for both use your specific CHAPTERCODEFDC, all in caps – case sensitive). At the top of the screen, click on “My AFP Profile” Scroll down to Foundation Development Chair Reports; click on the link Click on “Chapter Tally Report” “2013” or “2014” will appear in the box (or enter year for which you wish to run the report) and click “Continue.” The Chapter Tally Report will load at this point. If the report does not appear, please look for a banner at the top or bottom of the screen asking whether or not to allow pop-ups from our website. Please be sure to allow the pop-ups.

  26. Questions Can non-AFP members give to the Be the Cause Campaign? How will I know if our members have outstanding pledges? When will I have access to the Be the Cause toolkit? What if I think our chapter’s goal is too high? What’s the process for sending donor acknowledgement letters? What’s the difference between the Be the Cause Campaign and the Chapter Impact Campaign?
