  3. what is it? Animation is the process of taking many imagines or frames, where they are placed in order with slight alterations between slides giving a sense of movement. -flash is a lower budget alternative to video

  5. 1. SQUASH AND STRETCHGiving weight and volume to a character as it moves.

  6. 2. ANTICIPATION Movement prepares the viewer for action. The character could be starting to run, jump or change expression.

  7. 3. STAGINGdirecting the viewers attention to the story or idea being told.Proper staging will emphasize moods and characters

  8. 4. STRAIGHT AHEAD AND POSE TO POSE ANIMATIONstarting from the beginning and flowing to the end of a scene.

  9. 5. FOLLOW THROUGH AND OVERLAPPING ACTIONthe body of the character stops while other parts catch up, such as arms, long hair, clothing.

  10. 6. SLOW-OUT AND SLOW-INMore drawings near the starting pose, few in the middle, and more drawings near the end.

  11. 7. ARCSMost actions follow an arc or slightly circular path.
