Definition of Managed Lanes • Dedicated lanes along roadway corridors “managed” for congestion • Includes addition opportunities for high occupancy vehicles (HOV), reversible lanes, express lanes, truck only lanes, vehicle restricted lanes and bus lanes • Dynamic management includes vehicle restrictions or variable pricing and tolling strategies where operations change throughout the course of a day • Maintains existing “free” general use lanes
