Helping kids after divorce • Parents should sit down and talk to the child/children together. • Remind the children that they did nothing to cause the divorce. • Don’t speak badly about your spouse in front of the child. • Don’t use your child as a pawn to hurt the other parent. • Offer counseling. • Even if the parents disagree and argue, they must both be there for the child/children. My Personal Story I’ve been divorced for around five years. My kids live with me for most of the year. I do whatever I can to make my kids laugh every day and enjoy life as much as possible. My ex-husband and I get along very well for our kids sake. We know that emotionally and physically our kids need us both in their lives. Cori Matthews CIS 1020 Final Project
