Origins of Sci-fi and its development • Debates ongoing with the first original piece of science fiction (The Odyssey, Epics of Gilgamesh, Frankenstein). • 1930-40's: sci-fi got famous (mostly through movies and magazines) • 1950's: about communism, and atomic weapons. • 1960's: dreaming about outer space, mainly the moon • 1980's: ruins, decaying of cities, dark

Interesting Facts Frankenstein was written by a female author. A lot of information written by past authors became true: robot pets, travelling to the moon, and genetic engineering.
