In your Journal • Need to record a minimum of five events or details that describe Charlotte’s character. • Example: Charlotte is left on the dock with the luggage, while Mr. Grummage goes to speak with the captain of the Seahawk. (15 – 17) • In this scene Charlotte is shown as an obedient young lady who follows directions from a man just as she follows all the directions from her father.

  5. After Recording Charlotte’s Five Traits • On the Charlotte Doyle page of your journal: 1. Label this Charlotte Doyle Character Traits pages 15 – 29. 2. write one sentence describing Charlotte Doyle. Make sure you use the adjectives that you selected to describe her character traits.

  6. Partner Read pages 29 - 37 • With your partner: answer these questions in your journal.
