  2. Function The AlphaSmart is a keyboarding device that enables a person to work on the go, much like a laptop computer, but it is strictly for word processing, as it functions essentially like a simple digital typewriter. It also has a long battery life (up to two days).

  5. School use The AlphaSmart is mainly used in schools for students who have dysgraphia (trouble producing written language) or other learning disabilities that make penmanship unreadable or difficult to produce.

  6. How does it work? • To put it simply, the Alpha smart is a mini key board. It allows the student to type their notes instead of writing them free hand. The Alpha Smart comes with a USB port that allows the student to later upload their notes or projects to an actual PC for later use.

  7. Recommendation • I have had the chance to see this product work first hand. A student of mine has extremely low fine motor skills which makes it difficult for him to take notes. This then causes him to constantly f all behind in class. With the Alpha Smart, he is able to type his notes and later upload them to computer. This being said I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product.
