  3. Administration and Board Members • The problem is teachers need to reach students of all levels. Finding a common ground among them would help meet that need. • Xbox is known to all levels of students. • The consequence of using Xbox in the classroom could be astronomical.

  4. Decentralization • Xbox has taken the nation by storm. It is time for it to take the classrooms also. • Microsoft has many products we use everyday. Lets show them, we like this product too. • You can trust the schools to make rules of use and goals for the students that would adequately meet the needs of our students while keeping us a superior school.

Introduction to Xbox • March 10, 2000 Bill Gates reveals Microsoft’s plan to launch • May 10, 2000 Halo is demoed • September 22, 2000 live satellite link between London, San Francisco, and Tokyo reveals roster of support: 156 developers, including big hitters Activision, Konami, Capcom, Eidos, Epic, id and THQ pledge support for the system • December 13, 2000 = EA joins the team promising 10 new games a year.

  6. Introduction continued • January 6, 2001 – Xbox revealed (everyone heard but not seen one) • November 14, 2001- Xbox hits US stores for $299 • February 22, 2002 – Xbox hits Japan • March 14, 2002 – Xbox hits Europe • April 18, 2002 – Price of Xbox cut to $199

  7. Introduction Continued • November 2005 – Xbox 360 comes out. • July 2, 2008 – Xbox 360 redesigned • May 1, 2009 – rumor of a sensor bar that detects full movement takes wind. • June 1, 2009 – release of new dashboard • July 20, 2010 Microsoft gives release date for Kinect

  8. Maturity rate of Xbox • Discuss how Xbox has gone from a gaming system to classroom tool. • After hitting the world in 2001-2002 no sign of education in sight till 2011

Closing • The speaker sitting behind a desk green screen background office setting displayed on green screen. • Speaker provides audio conclusion of the topic wrapping up the rate of adoption as it relates to xbox. Bringing them together to create a new way of reducing costs while introducing a classroom tool in the education system.
