“Diagnostic” Situations In the Lab Diagnostic situations elicit behaviors that reveal something important about the quality of our partners and relationships. These situations reflect how couples tend to behave in their daily lives. In the current study, we examined how individuals spontaneously provide support to their partners who may need support.
