  10. IQ-MS Report Highlights Based on collection and analysis of data from a wide range of measures, the IQ-MS has been shown to be exerting a greater than expected impact on reform-based classroom practice in math and science classrooms of treatment schools after one year. Again, significant positive change is seen in attitudes about the effectiveness and personal command of purposeful reading techniques. Teachers appear to have gained knowledge and competency in the area of meaningful writing over the course of the school year. Teacher frequency of use of DL strategies in the mathematics classroom was a significant, positive predictor of student achievement on the PASS 2013 assessment in math and English language arts (ELA). However, for science where the number of teachers in the analysis was smaller, there were no significant findings and less consistency in directionality of the coefficients across content areas. With the acquisition of 2013 PASS data next year, analyses are expected to be more accurate and informative. Finally, it is notable that at each of the visited schools, the instructional specialist was well-known and respected.
