  1. Thesis What is the effects of wrestling on high school kids

  2. 1st body Why participate in wrestling? • Wrestling is an extremely rigorous sport, while burning as many calories in a six-minute match as basketball players burn in a whole game. During the season, a wrestler can expect to improve his cardio condition, build strength and endurance, and become more flexible, faster and better coordinated

  3. 2nd body What makes wrestling such a great sport? • Wrestling involves a unique balance of basically all types of physical, and psychological conditioning. • Prime Ex. - "Kieth Neal, West Johnston High School student and athlete, received the WRAL-TV Tom Suiter Extra Effort Award on Feb. 1. This is the second time a West Johnston wrestler has been awarded the coveted honor, the last time was in 2005 when Josh Gonzales received the award", proof of wrestling benefiting students of today.

  4. 3rd body Effects on character development. • work ethics- the discipline put into your work • discipline- effort to work • responsibility- making weight • confidence- in yourself • high school athletics are for developing people who can succeed off the field and in the professional world. • some negative facts that starving yourself to make weight can have on your body, scholastically, emotionally, physically, and socially.

  5. Conclusion High school wrestles put their effort into a program that effects them not just physically, the bodies and minds are both at work. with all the speed, endurance, and strength, they must also have quick reaction time and attack their opponent with the right move at the right time. By being a wrestler your coach teaches you discipline, so that you can train yourself. he teaches you life-long lessons of respect, responsibility, good work ethics, and confidence in yourself. With all these skills you acquire though out the season will make you a better person off the mat as well. as it shows in any good wrestle that has been through the program.
