Key facts • One of BCU’s neighbouring, partner schools. • On the same site: • Holte – Secondary School (1,150 students age 11-18) • Lozells – Primary and Nursery School (age 4-11) • Mayfield – Special School (all ages) • At Holte: • nearly 90% of pupils for whom English is not their first language. • the vast majority of children are from Bengali, Pakistani or Somali backgrounds • Nearly 70% of pupils termed ‘disadvantaged’ (from low-income families or in care).

  3. Achievements • Judged ‘outstanding’ in all areas by the inspectorate (Ofsted). • Student achievement (as measured by value-added scores) is in the top 25% of all schools in England. • http://www.holte.bham.sch.uk/

Visit to Holte on 29th November • Your contact will be Jane Humpherson(Assistant Headteacher). • You will have a tour of both Lozells Primary and Holte Secondary schools. • You will be able to interview a group of teachers from both schools – they have been sent the questions in advance. • Unfortunately you cannot visit Mayfield special school.
