Security Management education in Laurea (on university level in Finland) • Bachelor level degree programs in Finnish (Young and adult programs) and in English • Masters level degree program in Finnish • Internal security specialisation studies • Auditor course (Based on KATAKRI) Only university level school giving degrees in security

Projects in SM in Laurea … • Many funding channels in use • Projects for border security • Projects for enhanced operative capabilities for security authorities and companies • Projects in study periods e.g. Security planning, safety walks, etc. for • the City of Hyvinkää primary schools, • University level schools, • Governmental organisation, • Municipalities, • Several companies • Associations

  4. …Projects in SM in Laurea • Student’s personal projects e.g. in Workplacement (1 or) 2 or elective student’s worklife projects • Thesis are mostly done for the cooperative partner as a part of larger scaled project or as a independent project. • Best cases offering longer path through several project or same project. I present the best process starting this autumn is offering several subprojects for 2-4 students for about three years offering possibilities to get even 100 cr/each student. Strong network; Key to effective LbD • Security Management has remarkably strong network including different companies and public organisations • Dedicated Expert Forum • Good relations with different Security area’s Associations e.g. Finnsecurity • Good relations with the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) • OFFERS POSSIBILITIES TO GET NEW REAL (WORK)LIFE PROJECTS TO STUDENTS
